The Big Dog-Little Dog Program is now in its fifth year. This very effective program brings PSHS students to Poland Union Elementary School. While here, PSHS students (Big Dogs) serve as peer mentors to our preschool, kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students (Little Dogs). You can find Big Dogs helping our students learn to read and write, participating in math activities, modeling good behavior, and playing games in the gym. Our Little Dogs look forward to seeing their friends each week. The success of this program is often measured in smiles!
Our supportive PTO recognizes the value of this program and awards four graduating seniors, who have served as Big Dogs over their years at PSHS, with monetary scholarships. Recipients write essays explaining how they benefited from being involved in the program and positively impacted their Little Dogs.
