A national search is underway to find the next superintendent of the Poland Local School District. Finding Leaders is leading the search, and as part of the search, met with community members, teachers, and staff to identify what qualities Poland wants in its next superintendent.
Several focus groups were held on March 15. Feedback from these focus groups will help Finding Leaders develop a district profile to assist in the search for a new superintendent.
Here’s how the process will work: Finding Leaders will look at all applicants and narrow the selection down to six candidates, who will interview with the Poland Board of Education. The BOE will narrow down the pool to two candidates. The finalist will then be introduced to the community through public forums, where stakeholders can get to know each candidate. A panel of teachers, staff, community members and high school students will be part of a panel that will ask questions to each candidate during the stakeholders meetings. Following the public community forums, the BOE will name its selection for the superintendent. The goal is to have a new superintendent named by May 15, 2021.
