Superintendent News

A paw print and a bulldog mascot are superimposed over a building in the foreground, with the words "Poland Local Schools" and "COMMUNITY SURVEY" prominently displayed against a textured background.

We are excited to share that Poland Local School District is beginning a District-Wide Strategic Planning Process, a collaborative effort to define a shared vision for the future of our schools and community. The first step is hearing from you. We invite all community members, parents, students, and staff to complete our Community Survey. Your feedback will play a vital role in shaping the priorities and direction of our district for years to come. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey at the link below, and share it with your friends, family, and neighbors! We look forward to building this plan together.

"Some school systems carry a sense of continuity that is hard to miss. Generations pass through the same classrooms, and over time, those spaces begin to reflect not just education, but community identity. That continuity is evident in Poland Local Schools, where the roots of learning stretch back to 1802." Enjoy The Education Magazine's feature on Poland Local School District!

A message from Mr. Troy Polis, President, Poland Board of Education: After careful consideration, The Board of Education has decided to reissue the posting for the Superintendent position as an internal opportunity within the District. Reissuing the posting internally is intended to make clear that the Board welcomes and will give full and fair consideration to qualified internal applicants who may be interested in serving in the role. Selecting a Superintendent is one of this Board's most important responsibilities. As part of that responsibility, the Board is ensuring it is gathering the information necessary to make a thoughtful and well-informed decision in the best interest of the District and our community. The Board also appreciates the feedback shared by community members in the stakeholder survey and public forum. The Board continues to take that input into account as the process moves forward. This step is intended to support a careful and deliberate process. The Board remains committed to selecting the candidate who is best positioned to lead the District forward and continue supporting student success.
