The Poland Seminary High School Athletic Department will be closing Poland Stadium all day on Friday, April 25th in preparation for the 29th Annual Poland Track and Field Invitational being held on Saturday, April 26thThe stadium will reopen on Sunday, April 27th.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

The ESC of Eastern Ohio Career Counseling Dept. brought the future into the 6th grade classrooms with an exciting new way to explore careers... through the Oculus virtual reality headsets. Students recently had the opportunity to step into the shoes of professionals from a wide variety of fields—all without ever leaving their classroom.

Congratulations to the PSHS Bulldogs that participated in the YSU English Festival! Senior Francesca DiTommaso earned first place in "Not So Trivial Pursuit". Sophomore Monica Moore was not far behind her, earning third place in the same category. Bulldogs also found success in the Stephen Sniderman Memorial Writing Games category, as Senior Erika Casey earned second place, and Monica Moore earned an Honorable Mention. Way to represent PSHS, Bulldogs!

Over 25 Poland Seminary Junior High student musicians participated at the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) District 5 Solo & Ensemble on March 22, 2025. Overall, students representing PSHS earned 11 Superior (I) ratings and 6 Excellent (II) ratings from judges. Congratulations to all Bulldogs and their directors, Mr. Jeff Hvizdos, Mr. Jeff Penney, and Percussion Instructor, Mr. Matt Hayes, on their successes and talents while representing the district!

Our friend Mrs. Ayers from the ESC brought VR headsets to Mrs. DiMuzio's fifth grade art class for a virtual field trip! Students were tasked with exploring the natural scenes of Colombia, developing a sense of implied textures. They saw waterfalls, architecture, and the culture of various cities, all from the seats of their classroom.

Poland educator Rick DiNunzio was recognized among the region’s top teachers at the Mahoning Valley Educators of the Year event held Tuesday at the Eastwood Event Centre in Niles. DiNunzio, selected to represent the Poland Local School District, was one of 33 educators honored for their dedication and impact on students in Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana counties.

Two Poland Seminary High School seniors from the Class of 2025 have committed to serving the United States through distinguished college programs. Michael Daley has been appointed to the United States Naval Academy, and Oliver McCully has earned a full-tuition scholarship to Tulane University through the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (AROTC) program.

The Poland Board of Education approved a resolution to Proceed with the Submission of the Electors of the School District of the Question of the Renewal of an Existing Tax Levy, Pursuant to Sections 5705.194 to 5705.197 of the Revised Code. (#2025-10) The emergency levy renewal will be on the ballot for the May 6, 2025 Primary/Special Election.

Congratulations to fifth grade student Kathryn N. on memorizing 250 digits of PI in the annual Poland Middle School Pi Day Competition! WOW!! Kathryn secured the new school record with this amazing performance. Mrs. Martin's students opened up the competition with a little song, and then the digits were rattled off from memory. An all-around great day for our fifth-grade class.

This unique course is a 5-session character development program that incorporates physical exercise with life skill lessons. Open to all K-3 students, this series is designed to introduce your child to basic martial arts and to improve concentration, listening skills, cooperation, and courtesy. Poland Seminary High School's girls wrestling program has made history, thanks to the incredible performances of sophomore Ella Thomas and freshman Abbie Miller. Ella and Abbie made history as the first female wrestlers from PSHS to place in the top four at the OHSAA State Tournament. Ella, who placed fourth last year, became the school’s first-ever third-place finisher, while Abbie secured a fourth-place finish in her freshman season.
