Our week full of his and hellos finished with a photo booth (Thank you McKinley/Middle PTO!) for our Bulldogs to take photos with their new and familiar friends! 2026 ZOMBIE RUN - Sat. Oct 3, 2026 | Come get your scare on by running a course that includes Zombies for your thrill! The race takes place on the all grass Poland cross country course. This race welcomes all abilities and is appropriate for all ages. The main focus is to introduce running to kids, all while making it fun! Short sleeve shirts guaranteed to all pre-registered participants who purchase them. Poland Local School District will be conducting bus evacuation drills on Friday, September 25, 2026. Please note that these are drills and that our transportation staff will be instructing students throughout the process. McKinley & Poland Middle Students will perform the drill upon morning arrival to school. PSHS Students will perform the drill before afternoon departure from school.

The Poland Schools Foundation, in partnership with Poland Schools, is proud to present the second annual Walk for Our Future Fundraiser! Students in grades 3-6 will embark on a walk through our Village to raise money for scholarships, teacher mini-grants, and the Poland Seminary Auditorium Joint Project, creating opportunities and making a lasting impact for students, educators, and families across all grade levels. This event will take place on October 2, 2026 with a rain date set for October 16, 2026. Students will be supervised while participating during school hours. SALUTE! Signora Di Tommaso's syllabus called for her students in Italian to bring in tissue boxes to use during the school year... But not just any tissue boxes... ITALIAN tissue boxes! In an early research project, students decorated tissue boxes to display the many things that interest them about Italy! Cannolis, Gelato, Juventus, and even montagne that a Bulldog was named after! Bravi!

U.S. News & World Report released their 2026 K-12 school rankings. McKinley Elementary ranked #331 in Ohio, Poland Middle School ranked #134 in Ohio, and Poland Seminary High School ranked #63 in Ohio and #1,835 nationally (Top 7%). We are incredibly proud of our students and teachers. But the work we do is not defined by rankings or metrics. Our focus remains the same: to educate, empower, and inspire every student at every opportunity.

Poland Seminary High School's Bulldog Marching Band attended the 180th Canfield Fair to perform at the grandstands on 09/03/2026. Our Bulldogs represented the school district with talent, pride, and amazing musicianship on the big stage. Let's go, Dogs!

Poland Seminary High School students delivered exceptional results on the 2026 AP Exams! In Mr. DiNunzio's US History classes, 100% of students passed the AP Exam. In Mrs. Rinehart's Literature and Composition class, 100% of students passed the AP Exam. In Mrs. Hurdley's English Language and Composition classes (64 students took this!), 87.5% students passed the AP exam! Congratulations to our students and teachers at PSHS! Let's go, dogs!

Poland Local Schools has announced its program year policy for free and reduced meals for students unable to pay the full price of meals or milk served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast, After School Care Snack or Special Milk Programs. The district central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party. The State of Ohio Budget for school year 2026-2027 includes funding to cover the cost of reduced meals for breakfast and lunch. This provision allows schools to provide no cost meals to reduced price meal eligible students.

The Poland Local School District, along with our partner, the Village of Poland is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select a real estate development firm for the redevelopment of the Union School building and property at 30 Riverside Drive in Poland, Ohio. The deadline for RFQ responses are due by 4:00 PM, Thursday, October 1st, 2026.

In order to determine efficient bus routes, we ask that you complete the Transportation Information Form in FinalForms, indicating if your child will ride the bus. Even if your child will not be riding the bus this school year, this form must still be completed so we can accurately communicate transportation updates with you. The Poland Seminary High School Cheerleaders attended Cheer Time Athletics Spirit Camp on June 10-12, in Niles, Ohio. Throughout the week, the teams learned a variety of new material from cheers, to dance routines, to stunts for the upcoming season. The Bulldogs came home victorious earning two Elite Awards, the highest honor, with orange ribbons. In addition to this, many  individuals received various certificates throughout the week for leadership, cheer skills, stunt skills, and dance skills. More importantly, this group of cheerleaders left camp as a unified team!
