Poland Seminary High School's Bulldog Marching Band attended the 180th Canfield Fair to perform at the grandstands on 09/03/2026. Our Bulldogs represented the school district with talent, pride, and amazing musicianship on the big stage. Let's go, Dogs!

Poland Seminary High School students delivered exceptional results on the 2026 AP Exams! In Mr. DiNunzio's US History classes, 100% of students passed the AP Exam. In Mrs. Rinehart's Literature and Composition class, 100% of students passed the AP Exam. In Mrs. Hurdley's English Language and Composition classes (64 students took this!), 87.5% students passed the AP exam! Congratulations to our students and teachers at PSHS! Let's go, dogs!

Success by Six! Thanks to our partners at United Way - Youngstown Mahoning Valley, Ms. Berni, Mrs. McConnell, and Mr. Beard welcomed over 10 awesome learners this summer to get a sneak preview of Kindergarten at McKinley Elementary! They are ready to move up to Kindergarten, excited for a successful school year!

I would like to welcome all of you to McKinley Elementary School and to the start of the 2026-2027 school year.  I hope everyone is having a relaxing summer with family and friends.  Although we have a few weeks of summer left, the school year is almost here!

Poland Local Schools has announced its program year policy for free and reduced meals for students unable to pay the full price of meals or milk served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast, After School Care Snack or Special Milk Programs. The district central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party. The State of Ohio Budget for school year 2026-2027 includes funding to cover the cost of reduced meals for breakfast and lunch. This provision allows schools to provide no cost meals to reduced price meal eligible students.

SPEECH & DEBATE CAMP 2026! Calling all 6th-12th grade students. Join the PSHS Speech & Debate team for their summer camp. Learn the fundamentals of public speaking, presentations, writing, and more! The Poland Local School District, along with our partner, the Village of Poland is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select a real estate development firm for the redevelopment of the Union School building and property at 30 Riverside Drive in Poland, Ohio. The deadline for RFQ responses are due by 4:00 PM, Thursday, October 1st, 2026.

In order to determine efficient bus routes, we ask that you complete the Transportation Information Form in FinalForms, indicating if your child will ride the bus. Even if your child will not be riding the bus this school year, this form must still be completed so we can accurately communicate transportation updates with you. The Poland Seminary High School Cheerleaders attended Cheer Time Athletics Spirit Camp on June 10-12, in Niles, Ohio. Throughout the week, the teams learned a variety of new material from cheers, to dance routines, to stunts for the upcoming season. The Bulldogs came home victorious earning two Elite Awards, the highest honor, with orange ribbons. In addition to this, many  individuals received various certificates throughout the week for leadership, cheer skills, stunt skills, and dance skills. More importantly, this group of cheerleaders left camp as a unified team!

The Poland Middle School Sixth Grade class took their final steps out of the building as middle school students today. Welcome to seventh grade, Bulldogs!

Mrs. Kelliher's Bulldogs set up camp right in the classroom, but not any ordinary camp... Celebrating the accomplishments in learning throughout the school year, the kiddos worked in teams to earn camp supplies, build fires, make smores, and scavenge in Poland Municipal Forest. Aim, Wrangle, Shoot, Score, Learn, Grow... All ON TARGET! Sixth Grade doesn't miss, even in their field trip to On Target Outfitters, where the Bulldogs celebrated an amazing year of learning with a day having some fun. Robert, that is some catfish you caught there!

Congratulations to the PSHS Class of 2026! They will be celebrated at the commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 6 p.m. in the PSHS Field House. The Class of 2026 Valedictorians are Rowan Downie, Gurpreet Singh, Sean Zura, and Douglas Stoudt Jr.

Mrs. Fening's second graders took a trip back to the nineties today! Oh, the total confusion when they saw a cassette tape and boombox... As Everly and Gia's awesome shirts said, "I have no idea what this is!"

Thank you to our Middle School PTO for bringing in Komara Outdoors for our fourth grade classes and teachers to meet some scaly new friends! Mr. Henry and Ms. Mordocco weren't even scared a bit! What an awesome presentation for the Bulldogs.

Mrs. Martin took the Bulldogs outside today for data collection, plotting, and graphing. But with what data? The fifth graders timed their 100 meter dashes in two trials to determine if they improved or maybe caught their breath the second trial. Our timers and runners really set a strong pace.

Congratulations to Sophia R. on leading our third grade students to victory in our class spelling bee! Sebastian C. took second and Levi M. took third place with pride. Thank you, Mrs. Wilson, for organizing the event. Thank you to our third graders for cheering on their classmates!

We're moving up... to KINDERGARTEN! Congratulations to the pups on graduating from Dobbins Early Learning Center!

Mrs. Edgerly's third grade class at McKinley Elementary had a special virtual visitor! Mr. Mateja, Army Veteran and Mrs. Edgerly's father, called in to answer questions about his service. Some third grade book club students worked together to come up with questions for the interview.

We are sharing the adjusted block schedule for the final two days of school (6/1+2) for students in grades 7–11. These schedule changes are designed to allow for extended learning and testing times. View the schedule:

CAREER DAY! The 5th Grade Bulldogs presented careers to their friends in 4th grade! Each year, the fifth grade class will choose a career they are interested in and present information from a box project on what schooling is required, average pay, and duties. We heard from engineers, doctors, software developers, and yep, even a photographer!

In the heart of Washington, D.C., the Bulldogs enjoy a class trip exploring the nation's capital! Along the National Mall, they visit landmarks and museums that tell our rich history.

Five Poland Seminary High School students have been selected to participate in the 2026 STEM summer research project internships at Youngstown State University! Incoming seniors Eli Hagler, Nate Hupp, Jasmeet Kaur, Benjamin Miller, and Navtej Singh will be contributing to research in various STEM fields, all while earning college credit in high school!

Congratulations to the 5th and 6th grade bands and choirs on their outstanding progress this school year. They showed their talent in the spring concert. We loved the call and response from our choirs, a really cool percussion duet from Ben and Harrison, and then the bands took us home with exciting marches and rock and roll! Thank you, Mr. Hvizdos, Mr. Penney, Mr. Hayes, and Mr. Niro, for your dedication to music education in our schools.
