The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Poland Middle School from October 7-10! This timeless event brings back memories of flipping through colorful pages, finding that perfect book, and the excitement of bringing it home. The fair will be open during parent/teacher conferences on October 10. Be sure to check with your child’s teacher for class shopping times and don’t miss out on the fun!

2024 ZOMBIE RUN - Sat. Oct 12, 2024 | Come get your scare on by running a course that includes Zombies for your thrill! The race is made up of 400 meters of grass and then sends you into the spooky woods (graveled path) behind the soccer fields. Zombies look forward to giving you an extra adrenaline boost as you narrowly escape their grasp. This race welcomes all abilities and is appropriate for all ages. The main focus is to introduce running to kids, all while making it fun!

Poland Seminary High School has earned a BRONZE on the AP® School Honor Roll for the 2023-24 school year! The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students and maximizing college readiness. Join us for the 2024 Nutrition 4 Life event, a fun and educational experience designed for Kindergarten and Grade 1 students! From October 14-16, KG & 1st Grade students will enjoy complimentary meals in the school cafeteria while learning about healthy food choices and the importance of nutrition.

Poland Local Schools K-12 Students/Staff: Wear Gold on Monday, September 30, 2024! Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (CCAM) is recognized every September by childhood cancer organizations around the world. The American Childhood Cancer Organization encourages everyone to Go Gold® during September. 

This is a reminder that any child with eligibility for free/reduced meals from last year is set to expire on October 1. To avoid any interruption in their meal benefits and prevent the accumulation of a meal balance, it is important that you re-apply as soon as possible.

The PSHS Interact Club, an organization dedicated to promoting student outreach and volunteer work within the community, is offering help sessions to struggling 7th and 8th grade students free of charge! Your child will be matched with a volunteer student tutor depending on the subject that requires help and their availability. Tutors are available after school (2:15-3:00 on Tuesdays & Thursdays) and in various study hall periods throughout the week. We will do our best to find a match for every student and volunteer, but spots will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis.

The cardboard arcade in Mr. Daley's 6th Grade STEM class reopened to our McKinley Kindergarteners this year, and it featured brand new games and prizes!

Thank you to Canfield Local Schools for inviting the Bulldogs to Champions Day! Our Bulldogs enjoyed running through the band tunnel onto the field for a day of fun activities with the Cardinals!

SALUTE! Our first-year Italian students in Signora DiTommaso's class completed their first projects of the year! They decorated tissue boxes showing some of their favorite parts of the culture and greeted the class speaking in Italian. Bravi, Bulldogs!

With limited notecards, stickers, and a pair of scissors, our 4th grade STEM students were challenged to balance the scissors atop their notecard towers without them collapsing! We were reaching over 30cm tall with our designs as we practiced observing, collecting data, and improving throughout the rebuilding process.

The Poland High School Athletic Department has announced a Winter Sports Parent Meeting for Monday, October 21 at 6:00 PM in the High School Auditorium. The meeting is mandatory for parents whose son or daughter will be participating in a HIGH SCHOOL Winter Sport. Junior High Parents will meet with their son or daughters coach once teams are selected. All High School parents should plan on attending as we will be discussing policies and procedures for the upcoming winter season. The athletes do not need to attend this meeting.

The PSHS Boys Golf Team finished in 1st place to win the D2 Boys Golf Sectional Tournament on 9/23/2024 at Windmill Lakes. They advance to the district tournament on 10/01/2024 at Windmill Lakes. LET'S GO, DOGS!

Start with Hello Week at Poland Local Schools! All of K-12 Poland Schools are participated in a week full of events/themes dedicated to making new social connections and promoting inclusivity among students! Enjoy a recap of the activities that brought us closer together.

The Poland Interact Club is looking for opportunities to volunteer! This year's club is comprised of roughly 110 students eager and willing to volunteer their time to help support their local community. Class of 2025: The Yearbook Staff is offering a great opportunity to acknowledge and cherish the accomplishments of your son or daughter in their senior yearbook. A designated section has been set aside for seniors’ baby pictures and messages from their family. The cost for the standard baby photo and message is $25.00.

Bon Appétit! Our 3rd graders enjoyed a tasting of different genres and learned about the unique flavors each genre brings to literature. They explored everything from fantasy to non-fiction, discovering new authors and storytelling styles. 

All of Poland Schools K-12 participated in Start with Hello week September 16-20, full of events/themes dedicated to making new social connections and creating a sense of belonging among students!

Poland Local School District will be conducting bus evacuation drills on September 18 & 20. Please note that these are drills and that our transportation staff will be instructing students throughout the process. McKinley & Poland Middle Students will perform the drill Friday, September 20 upon morning arrival to school. PSHS Students will perform the drill Wednesday, September 18 before afternoon departure from school.

PSHS Homecoming will take place at Poland Seminary High School on Saturday, September 21, 6:30 - 9 p.m. $15 tickets will be on sale at lunches September 16-18. Tickets will be $20 at the door.
