MCKINLEY PRINTS! Third Grade students invited their parents to a breakfast this week to celebrate moving on to fourth grade. Keeping with a tradition, Mr. Beard invited the students to leave their "paw" on the wall as a reminder to all students of what it means to be a McKinley Bulldog.

When second graders from Miss Lawless' class approached Principal Mr. Beard with the idea of hosting a lemonade stand, his initial response was one of hesitation; typically, such activities are reserved for at-home fun. However, touched by the students' passionate plea to support pediatric cancer research, Mr. Beard was moved to give his approval. The students transformed their young entrepreneurial spirit into a charitable cause by hosting a lemonade stand that raised over $400 for pediatric cancer research and treatment! Read the story:

Our McKinley little dogs have been bonding with our PSHS Bulldogs! High School big dogs will visit McKinley during their study halls to help out the students in their projects, crafts, and assignments! Paige and Kennedy did the bunny hop in Music, Austin pitched a perfect game of kickball, and Sophia received all the hugs when she entered the classroom. The pups are making memories for life!

From Pawsitive Leaders... to Kindness Club Leaders! How about the turnout for our first Poland Middle School 4th grade Kindness Club meeting today?! We got right to work writing holiday cards to the armed forces and our neighbors in Poland who need some love this holiday season! We also planned for our winter necessities drive!

2nd grade students at McKinley Elementary School in Poland, Ohio are now published authors and illustrators. Last school year, Mrs. Amber Wagner’s former 1st grade class took part in Studentreasures’ National Book Challenge, which challenges classrooms across the United States to publish a book. The students received the first copies of their publication “U is for Unique”, a short book of reflections on characteristics that make people unique.

RED RIBBON WEEK ❤️ The last week of October became formalized as Red Ribbon Week in 1988 by a proclamation of the U.S. Congress. While we dress up for themes this week, we'll be learning the benefits of making positive choices and leading healthy, drug-free lifestyles!
