An all-call was sent to district staff and families on 01/02/2022 at 6:00 pm:
Good evening everyone. This is Craig Hockenberry, the Superintendent of Poland Local Schools. First of all, allow me to wish everyone a Happy New Year. 2022 is going to be a great year, and it’s going to start tomorrow. We will be in person tomorrow, as I stated earlier in the week. However we are aware of the recent surge in cases, not just in the Mahoning county but also throughout the state of Ohio in the United States. We have been watching it every day and monitoring the situation. Tomorrow, I have meetings with all the superintendents throughout the region as well as county, local, and state officials to talk about the new guidelines from the CDC and to get a feel for what the rest of the school districts and the rest of the region will be doing as we enter back from winter recess. In the meantime, I’m reminding everybody again that all the protocols that we had in place in December before we left for break are exactly the same. Should we need to make any adjustments tomorrow, I will let you know as soon as possible. As for tomorrow, everything remains the same. Again, I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. We’re going to get off to a great start. Every day is going to be a great day at Poland. Have a great evening. Thank you all.
