POLAND, Ohio - McKinley Elementary School in Poland, Ohio has raised $25,885 for the American Heart Association.
The fundraising began in early February as part of the "Kids Heart Challenge".
Excerpt from American Heart Association:
Building on key learnings from nearly 45 years in America’s schools, the Kids Heart Challenge focuses on whole body wellness, helping students improve their own health and better their character while raising life-saving donations for the American Heart Association to help kids facing heart-health issues.
Students took the pledge to stay active, make healthy choices, and "stay heart healthy". In Gym classes with Mr. Wesolowsky, students learned new exercises like jump roping to help the cause.
The American Heart Association led the fundraiser with an assembly, asking students to "be the torch" and earn dragon prizes by reaching fundraising checkpoints. Principal Beard promised the highest earning class a pizza party and each grade's highest earner a Chick-fil-A lunch!
Poland Local School thanks our students, staff, parents, and community for contributing to the American Heart Association.
