POLAND, Ohio – Poland Local Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Nick Blanch as the next Athletic Director at Poland Seminary High School.

A dedicated member of the Poland community, Blanch brings over two decades of experience within the district. He has served as a teacher at Poland Local Schools since 2002 and has been the Head Girls Basketball Coach since 2009. During his tenure, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to student-athlete development, leadership, and building a culture of excellence both in the classroom and on the court.

Blanch is a 1997 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and a 2001 graduate of Youngstown State University. His deep roots in the Poland community, combined with his passion for education and athletics, make him a natural fit to lead the district’s athletic programs.

“Nick’s dedication to our students and his understanding of what it means to be a Bulldog make him an outstanding choice for this role,” said Dr. Andrew Tommelleo, Superintendent of Poland Local Schools. “We are confident he will continue to build upon the strong tradition of Poland Athletics.”

Blanch will succeed longtime Athletic Director Brian Banfield, who has led Poland Athletics with distinction for nearly two decades. During Banfield’s tenure, Poland student-athletes and programs have achieved tremendous success, including numerous league, sectional, district, regional, and state-level accomplishments. His leadership has helped establish a culture of excellence, pride, and commitment throughout the athletic department.

“I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together at Poland and grateful for the support of our student-athletes, coaches, and community,” said Brian Banfield. “I am excited for Nick to take over as Athletic Director and know he will continue to move Poland Athletics forward in a first-class manner.”

Blanch will assume his new role following official Board approval, with a transition plan in place to ensure continued success across all athletic programs.

Poland Local Schools looks forward to the leadership, vision, and energy that Nick Blanch will bring to the Athletic Department.
