Janet (Hawkins) Muntean grew up in Northeastern Ohio in Columbiana County. She was a 1988 graduate of Crestview High School where she played and excelled in both Volleyball and Basketball. After graduation, she acquired immediate employment with the Crestview Local School District in the Board of Education Central Office. Also, for nearly 20 years, she coached both volleyball and basketball at all levels and played a vital role in establishing the Crestview Local Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame. In 2013, she began attending Walsh University, receiving Dean's List Honors and graduated summa cum laude in 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree and Business Administration and Management.

 

Janet lives in Columbiana with her husband, Michael and golden retriever "Hank". She enjoys golfing with her son Aaron, playing pickleball, being outdoors and beach vacations. She is an active member of the First Christian Church of Columbiana and enjoys volunteering at the church's Oasis Food Pantry Ministry.

 

After 27 years working in the Treasurer's Office at Crestview Local Schools, Janet was named CFO/Treasurer of the Poland Local Schools in January 2017. She has extensive experience in both payroll and budgetary school processes. As CFO, she is responsible for reporting all financial and budget matters of the district to the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education. She is a member of OASBO (Ohio Association of School Business Officials) and WROASBO (Western Reserve Chapter of School Business Officials).
